About Walk for Life & 5K Fun Run

Walk for Life is a community fundraising event that benefits the life-saving work of Ashland Pregnancy Care Center.  Every year, fundraising Walkers/Runners of all ages, families, and teams gather for our Walk/Run, supporting the vision of Ashland Pregnancy Care Center to come alongside women and men facing unplanned pregnancies and offering Christ-centered support.

The two-mile Walk or 5K Fun Run will take less than 90 minutes of your time, but its impact could last a lifetime. When you put your feet to your convictions and Walk for Life, you are directly helping the ministry of Ashland Pregnancy Care Center advance its mission to cultivate a community where the sanctity of human life is celebrated by all and making abortion unthinkable for generations to come.

How does the Walk for Life help our community?

The funds raised from the Walk/Run will help continue life-affirming programs that make a difference in the lives within our community by providing FREE services, that include: 

• Pregnancy tests & options counseling
• Limited OB Ultrasounds
• Baby & maternity clothing
• Learn & Earn Program and Parenting Classes
• Mom & Dad Mentoring
• Emergency baby supplies
• Community Referrals
• Post-Abortion & Pregnancy/Infant Loss Recovery
• Adoption Information
• Education on sexual integrity and risk-avoidance

To participate in the Walk for Life, first, create a fundraising page or download a pledge form, then ask everyone you know to sponsor you! Their pledges are tax-deductible. There are many useful fundraising tips for you to use as you begin. All pledges are a one-time pledge. This is not an athletic event, choose your own pace for the 2-mile walk or the 5K Fun Run. We look forward to celebrating life with you on September 28th!

Runners 

You can raise funds and participate in our fifth 5K Fun Run! 
PLEASE PRE-REGISTER! Minimum $25 sponsorship (per runner) required to participate in the 5K. Sponsorship increases to $50 (per runner) for those who register on September 28 – the day of the event. This will be a self-timed, unofficial 5K and there will be no medals awarded, but prizes (including t-shirts) will be given to fundraising walkers/runners based on their individual fundraising. Runners receive a FREE t-shirt upon registration!

Teams

The Walk for Life is even more exciting when you participate with a group of friends! A team consists of three or more fundraising walkers/runners. Team members could include your family, your friends, your small group – or any combination of three or more fundraisers! (Each team member needs to fundraise individually, and have their own pledge form (paper or online) on Walk day.) Be sure to designate one person as the Team Captain. 

As a TEAM CAPTAIN, just follow the easy steps below to create a team.

1. Identify a unique “Team Name”
2. Register yourself: Be sure to enter your team name, and yourself as the Team Captain when you register!
3. Encourage each of your teammates to register online – make sure they enter your team name when they register!
4. Visit the FAQs section of the website for helpful fundraising tips to share with your team!
5. Set a team goal and encourage your team to meet it! Check-in with your team members weekly to see how their fundraising is going.
6. Join us at the Walk! Be sure each team member has registered online as a part of your team and/or write your team name on their pledge sheets.
