Adoption – An Empowering Choice

Adoption – An Empowering Choice

If you are considering making an adoption plan, it’s imperative to learn about all your options to determine what is best for you. Placing a child for adoption is a huge sacrifice. It also takes courage and so much love. Sorting through the options of adoption, abortion, or parenting can be overwhelming, but you are not alone.

Here are some things you need to know if you are considering making an adoption plan.

  • Placing a baby for adoption is different for everyone.

There are lots of different adoption stories, but your story will be unique to you and your baby. This is YOUR placement, YOUR journey, and YOUR decision. You will have the chance to create your own story. There is only one of you. You are one of a kind, and so is your baby!

  • Adoption is your decision.

  1. Open: Biological and adoptive families have access to varying degrees of each other’s personal information and have an option of contact, sharing photos, or meet-ups.
  2. Semi-open: Non-identifying interaction is facilitated by a third party, which is usually the adoption agency or attorney.
  3. Closed: This is also called “confidential” adoption, which is a process by which another family adopts an infant, and the record of the biological parent(s) is kept sealed.
  • You have individual rights.

Adoption is a legal matter. We believe in strong, safe, and transparent adoptions for all parties involved. You may be wondering if you can make an adoption plan without the father’s consent, have questions if you are a minor, or need information about the adoption laws in our state.

We can help connect you with an adoption agency or adoption attorney who are experts in the laws of the states where they work. They can help you understand your rights, the rights of the other parent, the time frames of when things can be done, and the finality of your decision.

  • Adoption can be an empowering choice.

In our line of work, we hear so many beautiful adoption stories. Women share how empowered they felt during their pregnancy and through the adoption process. Although it’s not easy, adoption is the ultimate act of love – love between a mother and child, love that creates a new family, and love of oneself. Making an adoption plan is selfless, courageous, and brave.

What’s Next?

Make an appointment and speak to someone about adoption, abortion, and parenting.

We will never pressure you or tell you what you should do but instead give you the resources you need to decide what’s best for you.

We are not connected with any adoption agency and never profit from your decision.
